Celebrity New York Designer, Vanessa DeLeon finds inspiration for many design projects in art and will share her insights seminars at the Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show to be held from March 27th to 30th, 2015 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. DeLeon will speak to showgoers about how a work of art can inspire and define a room, express an emotion, and convey a homeowner’s personality.
This idea was initiated last month when Home Shows announced its inaugural “At Home with Art” exhibition which strives to demonstrate that the perfect work of art for any interior design concept can be found close to home. The exhibition will provide a sample of paintings and sculptures created by artists working or represented by galleries located in 7 of Miami’s art districts. Artists and district representatives will be on hand to “demystify” the (often intimidating) gallery visit, plus provide information about the many family-friendly art walks and events that take place throughout the year.
“My design is highly influenced by the Art Deco composition and styling of my Cuban roots,” said DeLeon. “Each of us needs to be aware of where our inspiration comes from, and often it is in the art that speaks to us. That is a great place to begin.”
DeLeon will be the keynote speaker at the private opening reception for the “At Home with Art” exhibition on March 27th and as a stage presenter on Saturday and Sunday (March 28-29) at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
Continuing the theme of bringing the homeowner together with artists and professional designers, the Home Design and Remodeling Show will also feature room showcases that pair designs by five South Florida Interior Designers with art by six artists featured in the “At Home with Art” showcase. Viviana Malave of VGM Decorators Inc. will incorporate paintings by Klara Chavarria and sculptures by Sandra Garcia-Pardo;Crystal J. Pierre of High-Life Designs will include paintings by Marco Beria and Tina Salvesen; Amelia Rozas of Amelia Rozas Designs Inc.will display works from Paolo Ambu’s recent solo show titled, “Moment of Time”; and designer duo, Jorge Noa and Pedro Balmaseda of Nobartewill feature works by sculptor and ceramicist, Rafael Consuegra.
