La Mar by Gaston Acurio located at Mandarin Oriental, Miami is launching a spectacular new brunch on Sunday, December 14, 2014, from 11:30am to 3:30pm, and available every Sunday thereafter. Guests can enjoy a sumptuous Peruvian-inspired brunch menu prepared by Executive Chef Diego Oka perfectly paired with the restaurant’s waterfront seating providing sweeping views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline.
The experience starts with an opulent spread of Peruvian specialties including cold stations of seafood cebiches, causas, tiraditos, and Peruvian-style sushi rolls, as well as hot specialties including grilled anticucho skewers, empanadas, sliders and whole fish.
The elaborate Cebiche station will feature favorites such as the Clásico with fluke, cilantro, aji limo, red onions, choclo and leche de tigre and the Nikei with tuna, red onions, nori, avocado, daikon, cucumber and nikei tamarind leche de tigre. A selection of Causa dishes, mashed potato dumplings topped with seafood, will be offered to include Cangrejo (beet causa with crab) and Escabeche(potato with crispy snapper). The culinary journey continues with Anticucho grill items includingFree Range Chicken, Octopus, Veal Heart, Scallops and Yellow Corn.
Every table will receive Chaufa Aeropuerto, La Mar’s signature Chinese fried Rice with pork and shrimp omelet drizzled with sweet chili Nikei sauce. In addition, guests can select one entrée from a special à la carte menu that will include Grouper Chorillana, with grouper, tamarind chorrillana sauce and mashed yuca with smoked bacon; Jalea Frita with calamari, octopus, fish, shrimp, plantain chips, cebiche sauce, chalaca, and yuca; Lomo Saltado and Fried Egg, a traditional beef dish with stir fried potatoes, red onions, tomatoes, soy sauce, cilantro, aji amarillo and rice, and Plancha Anticuchero, grilled octopus and calamari with crushed potatoes,
ají panca pepper sauce, chimichurri and choclo corn.
For an additional cost, guests can order premium entrées including Spiny Lobster Anticuchero with confit potato; Churrasco a lo Pobre with ribeye angus beef, chimichurri, beans and rice tacu-tacu, egg, and fried banana; or King Crab Plancha Anticuchera with crushed potatoes,
ají panca pepper sauce, chimichurri and choclo corn.
For dessert, a decadent tower of signature creations will be presented to each table to include alfajores, seasonal macaroons and tarts, Peruvian chocolate mousse, pie de limon, homemade candies, truffles and more.
Brunch will be served on Sundays from 11:30am to 3:30pm. The last seating will be at 3pm.
Cost is USD 85 per person and includes elaborate buffet selections, choice of one main Peruvian entrée specialty and unlimited Piper-Heidsieck champagne, La Mar’s classic cocktails including Pisco Sours, traditional Mimosas and Bloody Marys. For an additional USD 20 per person, guests will receive a choice of one premium Peruvian entrée specialty and unlimited Charles Heidsieck champagne. The cost is USD 35 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 years old are complimentary.
