This Memorial Day Weekend, Homestead-Miami Speedway is hosting a new type of race. The Speedway is trading in cars and haulers for bicycles and swim goggles for the running of the Miami Man Half Iron and International Triathlon on Sunday, May 25. Half Iron contestants will complete the 1.2-mile swim in the infield lake, 56-mile bike ride beginning with a lap around the track, and 13.1-mile run before returning to Victory Lane for the finish.

PARTICIPANTS: Registration is still open for participants wishing to compete. The Miami Man Expo will be held on Saturday, May 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., where participants can visit vendors and pick up their packets. There will also be an inspirational guest speaker, Hector Picard, speak about “changing a bicycle flat tire without hands”. A pre-race clinic and Q&A session will be held at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
RACE SCHEDULE: 6:45 a.m. – Half Iron Pre-race instructions at the beach
7:00 a.m. – Half Iron Triathlon Begins
7:45 a.m. – International Pre-race instructions at the beach
8:00 a.m. – International Triathlon Begins
9:10 a.m. – Swim Course Closes
12:10 p.m. – Bike Course Closes
1:30 p.m. – Awards ceremony for International in Victory Lane
1:45 p.m. – No starting of run lap #2 after this time
3:00 p.m. – Awards ceremony for Half Iron in Victory Lane
3:35 p.m. – Run course closes.
