Napa Valley’s The Meritage Resort Announced 2016 Winemaker Dinner Series
The Meritage Resort and Spa, in Napa, Calif., is proud to announce its prestigious 2016 Masters Winemaker Dinner Series. Already this year The Meritage has hosted numerous guests for dinners with HALL Wines/St. Helena, Joseph Phelps Vineyards, and the collection of wines that make up the Wagner Family of Wine including Caymus Vineyards and Conundrum. The second half of 2016 includes dinners with Opus One, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, Robert Mondavi Winery, and Silver Oak.
The series is designed to give guests an unforgettable dining experience as they sip on fabulous wines that are rarely available to the public and are given access to speak directly with winemakers, winery owners and family members, and key winery representatives while enjoying incredible food inside the intimate Estate Cave of The Meritage Resort.
Each dinner begins with a reception featuring wine and a variety of appetizers in the heart of the vineyards behind The Meritage Resort on its Vineyard Deck or overlooking its hillside vineyards from around its adults only pool. The reception is followed by a multi-course dinner featuring hard to find, winery exclusive wines, or first release wines including a new Rose from Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, Elia, and an impressive collection of five rare vintages from Opus One.
“These dinners are an opportunity for top Napa Valley wineries to showcase their wines in a unique way in their own backyards,” said Frederic Najem, director of food and beverage for The Meritage Resort. “Wineries often have these types of dinners at restaurants throughout the country and overseas, but rarely in the Napa Valley or Northern California. This is their opportunity to work directly with our culinary team to create a menu that pairs perfectly with their wines from the first sip to the last bite.”
In addition to winemaker dinners in the Estate Cave, The Meritage Resort is also hosting smaller monthly dinners on the patio of its farm to fork restaurant, Siena, known for its philosophy of sourcing locally and cooking with global flavors. These dinners include a wine journey that will take guests back and forth between Old World and New World wines with a Master Sommelier for New York City, Brian Cronin, and a dinner featuring fine tequilas from Don Julio.
