E.A.T! Event Night of food and drinks set for September 21 at BB&T Center

Exchange your pucks and sticks for plates and forks at the BB&T Center on Wednesday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. when Sunrise Sports & Entertainment, the parent company of the Florida Panthers and New Times present E.A.T!, an evening of food and drinks from dozens of South Florida’s most-loved restaurants.

E.A.T! – which stands for “Edible, Artisanal, and Tasteful” – gives guests the chance to participate in an adventure like no other at the BB&T Center. E.A.T! is much more than the average food-and-drink festival. In addition to featuring samplings of delicious food, the event offers guests several unique experiences including: a cooking competition similar to Food Network’s Chopped where two celebrated local chefs will face off in an exciting showdown on the main stage, live entertainment from local bands and DJs, a limited capacity elite area in Club Lexus with a complimentary bar as well as a VIP experience in Chairman’s Club.

“It’s really exciting to be co-promoting with New Times this unique and fun food event,” SSE and Florida Panthers Executive Chairman Peter Luukko said. “This is one of many events that we look forward to co-promoting and developing in the future to bring the best entertainment to the BB&T Center.”

“On behalf of New Times, we are thrilled to be partnering with the Florida Panthers and the BB&T Center for this new culinary festival,” New Times Publisher Adam Simon said. “E.A.T! will be a great event for restaurants, partnerships and all those attending at a great venue. It has the potential to become a staple event for years to come.”

Monark will serve as the sponsor for the E.A.T! kitchen stage while Goya will provide products and spices. Culinary Convenience Inc. will donate cookware and utensils needed for the chef competitions and a high end Japanese cooking knife for the winner. Sunshine Provisions will supply the competing menu items for the chefs. Celebrity Cruise Lines will feature their signature bartender presentation and martini drinks while Nespresso is the official coffee partner for E.A.T!

A percentage of ticket sales will go toward the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, the only organization in Florida that offers the ProStart program, the Lodging Management Program (LMP), the Hospitality & Tourism Management Program (HTMP), and the Skills, Tasks and Results Training program, (START). These programs were developed to increase the quality of employability of today’s high school graduates by providing them with training related to important job skills as well as opportunities for careers and higher education.

Tickets for E.A.T! at the BB&T Center go on sale on April 28 at 9:00 a.m. on Ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000. Please visit www.thebbtcenter.com for more information.
