Donald J. Pliner Opens Coming Home

PrintOpening: November 2, 2015

Iconic American shoe designer Donald J. Pliner takes a giant step into the world of interior design with a triumphant return to his beloved Miami with the opening of Coming Home, a gallery of home furnishings, unique objects and art owned and curated by himself and his wife, fellow designer Lisa Pliner.

With the gallery located in the heart of Miami’s art-hub, Wynwood, the designing duo have carefully selected objects and home furnishings collected during or inspired by their two decades of world travels. Renowned for their distinct color sense and original design point of view, the Pliners have focused the gallery around a concept of color – five distinct lacquer colors, creating a sensory experience: black, white, silver, cobalt blue and Chinared.

A collection of chandeliers, sofas, chairs, rugs, massive mirrors and one-of-a-kind objects d’art will delight the most seasoned design enthusiast.

In addition to showcasing unique pieces, the Pliners, recognized for their local philanthropy work with the arts and charities, will use the gallery space for a series of dynamic cultural programming events to support their favorite causes and fellow artists from both the Miami area and from around the world.
