The University of Miami (UM) College of Arts & Sciences Department of Modern Languages & Literatures and the UM Italian Film Festival (UMIFF) will host the 5th Annual Italian Film Series presenting the overseas box-office hit film, “La Passione.” This Italian comedy is about the frustrations of a failed movie director named Gianni. His problems increase when a leak in Gianni’s Tuscan apartment ruins an expensive 16th-century fresco of the chapel next door. To avoid the scandal and the payment he can’t afford, Gianni is essentially blackmailed to direct the town’s performance of Good Friday.
