THE MIAMI DESIGN DISTRICT BRINGS TOGETHER COMMERCE AND CULTURE FOR 2012 FAIR WEEK

Craig Robins, together with Mathieu Le Bozec -- on behalf of Dacra and L Real Estate -- kick started the 2012 Miami fair week with a presentation of the culture and shopping experience in the Miami Design District and the plan for the future of the neighborhood.

In conjunction with Art Basel Miami Beach and Design Miami/ 2012, the Miami Design District will host a week-long program of events and exhibitions that mix fashion, culture and performance, gathering together the best international talent as well as Miami-based artists and designers. The 18-square block neighborhood will be humming with unique installations, events and environments, with the iconic Buena Vista Building acting as a central hub. These exhibitions will join recently opened or soon to be open retail shops by Céline, Cartier, Dior Homme, Louis Vuitton and Prada, and long-time neighborhood favorites En Avance, Christian Louboutin, Maison Martin Margiela, Marni, Holly Hunt, Luminaire Lab and more, to offer residents and visitors an unparalleled experience. The breadth and scope of the programming — from Architecture for Dogs with designs by some of the biggest names in architecture; to Orchid, a provocative cabaret for all the senses, adding a live performance element to the District for the first time; to an exhibition by Acconci Studio, the Design Miami/ Designer of the Year — is a reflection of the neighborhood’s commitment to celebrate creativity in all its forms.
