The Follies Host Inaugural Children’s Clothing Giveaway at JC Penney

On Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 8:00AM the Original Florida Follies will host their inaugural “Follies Children’s Clothing Giveaway Day at JC Penney” with children from the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center and the Florence Fuller Development Center.  170 children will be paired with their own Follies “personal shopper” to select clothing at the JC Penney Store at Pompano Citi Centre.  The Follies will utilize the money that was raised through their ticket sales to fund this program.

The Original Florida Follies TM is a not for profit 501(C)3 charitable organization comprised of  dancers 60 to 90+ years young  performing Broadway Style Stage Extravaganzas each winter season. These performers are retired dancers, choreographers, dance teachers, showgirls and people who love to dance.  The Follies raises money through ticket sales for disadvantaged children in south Florida. The Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC) is a not-for-profit organization that serves more than 10,000 children with special health care needs in Broward County. Florence Fuller Child Development Centers, Inc. is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit offering affordable childcare, quality preschool (including the only Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Boca Raton), enriched afterschool and summer camp for low-income families.  Comprehensive support services include a food program providing two-thirds of the children’s nutritional needs, medical screenings and a clinic where mildly ill children are cared for by a registered nurse, alleviating the need for parents to take time off work.
