Miami Beach Culture Crawl — Free Third Thursday

Three Museums, One Evening, Zero Cost — Free Trolley Included

On the third Thursday of each month during the season, Miami Beach opens The Wolfsonian-FIU, ICA Miami, and The Bass simultaneously for free evening access — with a free trolley running between all three venues.

The Miami Beach Culture Crawl is one of the most intelligently designed free cultural events in South Florida. Three of Miami Beach's premier cultural institutions — The Wolfsonian-FIU, ICA Miami, and The Bass — open their doors simultaneously on the third Thursday of each month from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A free trolley circuit connects all three venues, making it possible to visit all three in a single evening without a car or rideshare. Each venue typically offers curator-led tours, digital interactive labs, and street activations alongside the standard exhibitions.

How to make the most of this resource.

The Optimal Circuit

Three hours, three museums — here's how to maximize the evening:

  • 6:00 PM — The Wolfsonian:Start at The Wolfsonian-FIU on Washington Avenue. The collection focuses on design, propaganda, and material culture from 1885–1945 — one of the most distinctive museum collections in the country.
  • 7:00 PM — The Bass:Board the free trolley to The Bass on Collins Avenue. Contemporary art with a focus on fashion, design, and popular culture. The building itself is a 1930s Art Deco landmark.
  • 8:00 PM — ICA Miami:The free trolley also connects to ICA Miami in the Design District. ICA is always free regardless — but the Culture Crawl adds programming and curator talks.

Before and After

  • Lincoln Road:The Wolfsonian is two blocks from Lincoln Road. Arrive early for dinner on the pedestrian mall before the 6:00 PM opening.
  • After the crawl:The Bass is adjacent to SoundScape Park. Check if a NWS WALLCAST concert is scheduled for the same evening — the park is a 1-minute walk from The Bass.
