MetroConnect SoMi On-Demand — Always Free
Free On-Demand Microtransit for South Miami and Pinecrest
MetroConnect SoMi is a free on-demand microtransit service powered by Via, connecting South Miami and Pinecrest neighborhoods to the Dadeland South Metrorail Station — no fixed schedule, no fare.
South Miami and Pinecrest are two of Miami-Dade's most desirable residential neighborhoods, but they sit just far enough from Metrorail to make transit inconvenient without a car. MetroConnect SoMi solves this with on-demand shared rides that match passengers heading in the same direction — you request a pickup via the Via app, and a vehicle arrives to take you to the Dadeland South station or within the service zone. It's a genuine first-mile/last-mile solution that makes the full Metrorail network accessible from these neighborhoods at zero cost.
