The Wellness & Recovery Playbook: The PGM Guide to Feeling Good in Miami

Miami has always had a wellness culture — but the recovery infrastructure has caught up. Cold plunge, float tanks, IV therapy, breathwork, sports recovery, and the spaces where serious self-care actually happens.

Live Miami

Overview

Miami has always had a wellness culture — the outdoor fitness, the year-round running, the beach yoga, the juice bars on every corner.

But the recovery infrastructure — the cold plunge facilities, the float tanks, the IV therapy clinics, the breathwork studios, the sports recovery centers — has matured significantly in the past several years.

The city now has a serious wellness ecosystem, and this guide is an attempt to map it honestly.

We've been covering Miami wellness since 2006.

These are the places and practices that have earned our attention.

Live Miami

Cold Plunge & Contrast Therapy

Cold water immersion has moved from athletic recovery into the mainstream wellness conversation, and Miami has responded with several dedicated facilities.

  • Remedy Place — Brickell

The New York-based social wellness club opened its Miami location in Brickell and immediately became the most complete contrast therapy facility in the city.

The offering includes ice baths, infrared saunas, cold plunge pools, and a full recovery programming menu.

The social model — designed for groups as well as individuals — makes it one of the more interesting wellness spaces in Miami.

    Membership and day passes available.

📍Brickell — check current address and hours

  • Sauna House — Multiple Locations

A dedicated sauna and cold plunge facility with a straightforward model: Finnish-style saunas, cold plunge pools, and the time to use them properly.

The programming includes guided contrast therapy sessions for those new to the practice.

One of the most accessible entry points into serious contrast therapy in Miami.

  • Anatomy — Miami Beach / Coral Gables

The luxury fitness and wellness club has locations in Miami Beach and Coral Gables, both with cold plunge and recovery facilities integrated into a broader fitness offering.

The Coral Gables location in particular has one of the best recovery suites in the city.

Membership required; day passes available at select times.

Float Tanks & Sensory Deprivation

  • Float8 — Wynwood

Miami's most established float tank facility, operating in Wynwood since the early days of the neighborhood's transformation.

The tanks are well-maintained, the staff is knowledgeable, and the pre- and post-float protocols are thoughtfully designed.

    First-time floaters are well-supported.

The 90-minute session is the standard; the 60-minute option is available for those with less time.

📍Wynwood — book in advance, sessions fill quickly on weekends

  • True REST Float Spa — Multiple Locations

A national float spa chain with South Florida locations.

The pods are modern and well-maintained.

The experience is more clinical than Float8 but consistently reliable.

Good option for those who want a predictable, well-run float experience without the boutique atmosphere.

IV Therapy & Functional Medicine

IV therapy has become one of the most visible wellness services in Miami — partly because of the city's event culture (Art Basel recovery, Ultra weekend, Formula 1 week) and partly because the functional medicine community here is genuinely sophisticated.

  • Drip Hydration — Mobile & Multiple Locations

The mobile IV therapy service that will come to your hotel, home, or office.

The menu covers hydration, hangover recovery, immune support, energy, and athletic recovery.

The service is reliable and the medical staff is professional.

One of the most convenient options in the city for post-event recovery.

  • The IV Doc — Miami Beach

A physician-supervised IV therapy clinic with a full menu of drips and add-ons.

The medical oversight is more rigorous than most mobile services, which matters for those with health considerations.

The Miami Beach location is convenient for the hotel corridor.

  • Nourish — Brickell

A functional medicine and IV therapy clinic in Brickell that takes a more comprehensive approach — integrating IV therapy with nutritional counseling, hormone optimization, and a broader wellness protocol.

Worth considering for those looking for more than a one-off drip.

Breathwork & Mind-Body Practices

  • Pause Studio — Wynwood

A breathwork and meditation studio in Wynwood that has built a loyal following among Miami's creative and wellness communities.

The breathwork classes — drawing on Wim Hof, holotropic, and somatic traditions — are led by experienced facilitators.

The space is well-designed and the programming is consistent.

One of the better places in Miami to develop a serious breathwork practice.

  • Unplug Meditation — Brickell

A dedicated meditation studio in Brickell with a range of guided meditation formats — mindfulness, visualization, sound bath, body scan.

The drop-in model makes it accessible for those without a regular practice.

The instructors are well-trained and the space is genuinely calming.

  • Yoga — The Best Studios

    Miami's yoga scene is extensive.

    A few studios worth knowing:

  • Modo Yoga Miami (Brickell):

Hot yoga in a well-run studio with consistent programming and a strong community. The 60-minute hot flow is the signature class.

  • Miami Life Center (Coconut Grove):

An Ashtanga-focused studio with a serious practice community. The Mysore program is one of the best in the city for those committed to the tradition.

  • Exhale Spa (South Beach):

A full-service spa and yoga studio with a range of formats. The barre and core fusion classes are particularly popular.

Sports Recovery & Physical Therapy

  • NovaCare Rehabilitation — Multiple Locations

The national physical therapy chain has multiple Miami locations with sports medicine specialists who work with the city's professional athletes and serious recreational athletes.

The quality is consistently high and the wait times are manageable compared to hospital-based PT.

  • Stretch Zone — Multiple Locations

Practitioner-assisted stretching — a service that has become one of the most popular recovery modalities in Miami.

The Stretch Zone model uses proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching to achieve range of motion improvements that are difficult to achieve through self-stretching.

    Multiple locations across Miami-Dade.

  • Cryotherapy — CryoZone & Others

Whole-body cryotherapy — three minutes in a chamber at -200°F — has a significant presence in Miami's sports recovery community.

CryoZone has multiple locations and is the most established operator.

The evidence base for cryotherapy is mixed, but the anecdotal reports from athletes are consistently positive for acute recovery.

Massage & Bodywork

  • The Standard Spa — Miami Beach

The Standard's spa on the Venetian Causeway remains one of the best spa experiences in Miami — the outdoor thermal pools, the hammam, the massage program, and the setting on the bay are all exceptional.

The day pass is one of the best wellness values in the city.

    📍40 Island Ave, Miami Beach

  • Carillon Miami Wellness Resort — Miami Beach

The most comprehensive spa and wellness facility in Miami.

The 70,000-square-foot spa includes a full thermal suite, a lap pool, a fitness center, and a menu of treatments that covers everything from traditional massage to advanced aesthetic medicine.

The day pass is expensive but the facility is genuinely extraordinary.

    📍6801 Collins Ave, Miami Beach

  • Endospheres Evolution Miami

A body contouring and recovery treatment using compressive microvibration technology.

The treatment has a following among Miami's fitness community for its combination of recovery and aesthetic benefits.

Multiple practitioners in the city offer the service.

The PGM Rule on Wellness in Miami

The best wellness practice in Miami is the one you'll actually maintain.

The city offers extraordinary infrastructure — the outdoor fitness, the recovery facilities, the practitioners — but the trap is treating wellness as an event rather than a practice.

The cold plunge works if you do it regularly.

The breathwork works if you show up consistently.

The massage works better as maintenance than as emergency repair.

Build the practice.

The city will support it.
