FOOTY’S 12TH ANNUAL WING DING GOLF CLASSIC RAISED $75,000 FOR HERE’S HELP

Footy’s 12th Annual Wing Ding Golf Classic Sponsored by Badia Spices and Presented by the Weston Dining Group raised over $75,000 for Here’s Help, Inc..  The annual charity event, hosted by renowned South Florida radio personality John “Footy” Kross, took place on Friday, May 13th at the newly renovated Pembroke Pines Golf & Racquet Club.

Local celebrities and business executives, who joined Footy in teeing off for the day included Dan Marino, Froggy from Y100, former Dolphin Terry Kirby, broadcasting legend Tony Segreto, Jamie McDonnell, Founder and CEO of the Weston Dining Group and Jarett Levan, CEO of BankAtlantic.
Footy, who currently hosts “The South Florida Sportsman Show,” airing every Saturday from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Clear Channel Radios’ “The Sports Animal WINZ-940AM,” is known for his deeply rooted commitment to community service and has been a presence on South Florida radio for over 34 years. He was a co-host on a locally produced South Florida morning show on Y100 from 1974 to 2006, thus holding the record of longest Top 40 CHR DJ in North America.

Founded in 1968, Here’s Help, Inc. has become one of Miami-Dade County’s premiere providers of residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment, annually serving 800 adolescents and young adults starting at the age of 13. Funded by local, state and federal contracts, Here’s Help has excelled as a substance abuse treatment provider and is lauded by the Departments of Corrections, Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Children and Families (DCF), and Probation and Parole for its treatment, educational and preventive services.

Recognizing the contribution of the agency’s Alternative Therapies Program to the field of chemical dependency, the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association and DCF awarded this program 1st Place statewide as an Exemplary Treatment Facility in 2002.
