Florida Climate Week — Free Annual Events
Free Panels, Beach Cleanups, and Community Activations — Typically October
Florida Climate Week is an annual awareness week with free public events, panels, beach cleanups, and community activations focused on climate resilience and South Florida's environmental future — led by the Surfrider Foundation and local organizations.
South Florida is one of the most climate-vulnerable regions in the United States, and Florida Climate Week exists to make that conversation public and accessible. The annual week of events — typically held in October — includes free panels and discussions featuring scientists, policymakers, and community leaders; beach and waterway cleanups open to all participants; and community activations at venues across Miami-Dade County. The Surfrider Foundation is a primary organizer, alongside a coalition of local environmental and civic organizations. All public-facing events are free to attend.
