Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is launching its inaugural Arts Residency and Commission — and the terms are worth knowing. One South Florida-based artist will receive a $12,500 fee, up to $25,000 in production funding, and dedicated studio space at Vizcaya Village from May through November 2027. The resulting work will be exhibited in Vizcaya's Main House.
The commission is site-specific, which means the work is made for and in response to Vizcaya itself — one of Miami's most architecturally and historically layered spaces. For the right artist, that is a genuinely interesting constraint.
Applications are due November 2, 2026.
