The youngest Braxton sister spoke with Premier Guide Miami about carving out her own identity, what it's really like filming Braxton Family Values, and her own musical ambitions.

Trina Braxton said it plainly: "People always want to talk about Toni, and I love my sister, but I am my own person. I have my own voice, my own story, …" — and Premier Guide Miami was in the room when it happened.
Trina Braxton has spent much of her public life in the considerable shadow of her older sister Toni, but Braxton Family Values gave her a platform to show audiences who she really is — funny, fiercely loyal, and far more complex than any supporting-cast label could contain.
Premier Guide Miami sat down with Trina to talk about the show, her music, and what it means to finally be seen on her own terms.
PREMIER GUIDE MIAMI: Braxton Family Values has given you a much higher profile. How has that changed things for you?
Love Miami covers the city's conversations — the interviews, the creative voices, the tastemakers and innovators who define South Florida's cultural identity. This is the pillar where Miami speaks for itself.
TRINA BRAXTON: People always want to talk about Toni, and I love my sister, but I am my own person. I have my own voice, my own story, and I'm not going to apologize for wanting people to know that. The show gave me that chance.
PREMIER GUIDE MIAMI: You've been working on your own music. What can fans expect?
TRINA BRAXTON: Something real. Something that sounds like me, not like anyone else in my family. I've been in this industry long enough to know what I want to say, and I'm finally ready to say it.
