Entertainment
Taylor Swift made her South Florida arena debut with the Fearless Tour at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise on June 20, 2009. The tour — her first as a headlining arena act — supported her Grammy Award-winning album Fearless , which had already produced the hits "Love Story," "You Belong with Me," and "White Horse."
The production was elaborate for a country-pop act of her age, featuring multiple costume changes, a catwalk extending into the audience, and a surprise guest appearance. Swift performed her biggest hits alongside deep cuts from her debut album, connecting with a crowd that skewed young but spanned generations.
The Fearless Tour, produced by Live Nation, grossed over $66 million and was one of the top-grossing country tours of the year. The BankAtlantic Center date sold out quickly, reflecting Swift's rapid rise from country newcomer to mainstream superstar.
