Three Spots in Fort Lauderdale for the Real Game Day Experience
Chicago Bears diehards, displaced fans, and anyone who takes football seriously — Fort Lauderdale has a game day scene that delivers. Three spots that get it right: the crowd, the food, and the vibe.
Part of our ongoing curation of what it means to live, love, and play in the Magic City.
There is a version of game day in South Florida that is loud, distracted, and only half-watching. Then there is the version where the diehards found each other, claimed a room, and made it theirs. Fort Lauderdale has that version — if you know where to look.
South Florida is not a football town by default. The transplants made it one. Chicago Bears fans, Packers faithful, Bills Mafia — they all landed here and went looking for somewhere to watch the game with people who actually care. Fort Lauderdale has quietly become the place where those people found each other. Three spots that prove it.
Hott Leggz — The One the Diehards Claimed
📍 2471 East Commercial Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308 · 954.771.5151 · Open 7 days, 11am–2am
Hott Leggz is the kind of place that does not need to advertise. The Bears fans found it. The Bills fans found it. The people who drove forty minutes because someone told them this was the real thing found it. By kickoff, every seat is taken and the room has a temperature — the kind that only happens when the crowd is actually invested in what is on the screen.
The food is the other reason people come back. The clam chowder arrives in a simple bowl — the kind of thing that earns its own conversation. It is not a sports bar afterthought; it is a reason to order it. The wings, the apps, the whole spread reads like a kitchen that takes the food as seriously as the regulars take the game. Best burger in Broward since 2011 is the claim on the door. The room backs it up.
Shooters Waterfront — Game Day on the Intracoastal
📍 3033 NE 32nd Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308 · Intracoastal Waterway, Oakland Park
Shooters is the game day spot that also happens to be one of the best waterfront bars in Broward County. The Intracoastal runs right behind it — boats pass, the breeze moves, and the outdoor deck gives you the kind of setting that makes a Sunday afternoon feel like it was designed for exactly this. Multiple screens, a full bar, and a crowd that ranges from serious fans to people who showed up for the view and stayed for the game.
The food program at Shooters holds up. The fish tacos, the nachos, the bar bites — it is a full kitchen operating at game day volume without cutting corners. The Sunday brunch overlap means the mimosa crowd and the football crowd coexist peacefully, which is its own kind of South Florida achievement. If you want the game with a view and a real drink in your hand, Shooters is the answer.
Galuppi's — The Neighborhood Bar That Has Always Been There
📍 2301 E Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304 · Near Sunrise Boulevard and Federal Highway
Galuppi's is the Fort Lauderdale institution that locals have been using as their game day anchor for decades. It does not have a waterfront view or a viral food item — what it has is consistency, a crowd that knows each other by name, and a bar that has been doing this long enough to get it right. The screens are everywhere, the sound is up, and the room fills with people who have been coming here since before the NFL Sunday Ticket existed.
The menu is classic bar food executed without pretension — burgers, wings, loaded fries, the kind of thing you want in front of you during a fourth-quarter drive. Galuppi's is the spot for when you want to feel like a regular even if it is your first time. The room has that quality. It absorbs you into the crowd and by halftime you are arguing about the play call with someone you just met.
The Move: Get to Hott Leggz at opening — the clam chowder and a seat at the bar are both first-come. If the early game is the one you care about, this is where you plant. For the afternoon window or a late start, Shooters gives you the Intracoastal and a full kitchen. Galuppi's is the closer — the neighborhood bar that has been doing this for decades and will be doing it long after everyone else has moved on.

The PGM Edit
South Florida is full of places to watch the game. It takes longer to find the places where people actually care. These three are worth the drive.
