Part of our ongoing curation of what it means to live, love, and play in the Magic City.
This Weekend's Geography
2 neighborhoodsThe Miami HEAT and Rockstar Games have announced a partnership that is as Miami as it gets: on November 18th, the HEAT will take the court as "Vice City" in a nationally televised game against the Milwaukee Bucks -- the night before the November 19th release of Grand Theft Auto VI.
A Night in Vice City will transform the Kaseya Center into Vice City -- showcasing the Miami-inspired setting of Grand Theft Auto VI -- for a first-of-its-kind sports crossover experience.
Televised on ESPN nationally and on Local 10 in South Florida, the game will feature a special Vice City court, a uniform never previously worn by the HEAT, and unique game-night activations and live elements that blur the line between professional basketball and one of the most anticipated video game releases in history.
The partnership kicked off on October 1st with the lighting of the iconic "Welcome to Vice City" signage on the roof of Kaseya Center -- a moment that immediately went viral across South Florida. Additional details and a full guide to game-night activations will be updated at HEAT.com/ViceCity as they are announced.
For a city that has always lived at the intersection of culture, style, and spectacle, this crossover feels inevitable. Grand Theft Auto VI returns to Vice City -- Rockstar's fictional stand-in for Miami -- and the HEAT are leaning all the way in. Expect neon, nostalgia, and a whole lot of pink on the court come November 18th.
