The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show runs October 28–November 1 at Bahia Mar Yachting Center. Five days, multiple venues, water taxis, superyachts. And this year, FLIBS is also previewing RefitX — a new yacht refit conference debuting at FLIBS 2027.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is one of those events that reminds you exactly where you live. For five days, the docks along the Intracoastal fill with everything from center consoles to superyachts, the crowds are serious, and the city leans into its identity as the yachting capital of the world. This year's show runs October 28 through November 1 — mark it now.

FLIBS is consistently ranked among the largest in-water boat shows on the planet. The show spans multiple venues across Fort Lauderdale — Bahia Mar, the Convention Center, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Marina, and Pier 66 — all connected by water taxi. The combined display space runs into the millions of square feet. The boats on display range from entry-level fishing rigs to nine-figure superyachts that most people will only ever see from the dock.

For the marine industry, FLIBS functions as a genuine trade event — manufacturers debut new models here, dealers write serious orders, and the conversations happening on those docks shape what the market looks like for the next twelve months. The presence of brands like Schaefer Yachts, Prestige, and MarineMax on the docks is not incidental. This is where business gets done.

This year's show also carries a forward-looking announcement worth noting. The Marine Industries Association of South Florida — the organization that owns FLIBS — has announced RefitX, a new two-day conference and exhibition dedicated exclusively to the yacht refit industry. The full event debuts at FLIBS 2027, but attendees at this year's show will get a preview of the topics, discussions, and format. RefitX will be held at the Broward County Convention Center's Atlantic Ballroom, running October 27–28 during FLIBS 2027, covering everything from emerging materials and project execution to workforce development and sustainability. For anyone in the marine industry — or anyone who owns a boat worth maintaining — it's a signal that South Florida's refit sector is organizing at a serious level. More at refitx.com.

For Miami, FLIBS is a natural extension of the waterfront culture that defines South Florida. The two cities share a boating community — the same buyers, the same brokers, the same marinas. Many of the boats that debut at FLIBS end up docked in Miami. The show is worth the 45-minute drive north, and the Fort Lauderdale dining scene around the marina corridor — Shooters, Casa Sensei, Oceans 234 — makes it easy to build a full day around it.

Arrive early — parking fills quickly and the docks get crowded by midday. The morning hours, when the light is good and the crowds are thinner, are the best time to actually look at boats. Water taxis run between all venues throughout the day. Tickets are available at the gate and at flibs.com.
