Filming in Miami: October 5, 2026
Film permits issued the week of October 1 by Miami-Dade, Miami Beach, and the City of Miami include a motion picture and a short film — both shooting in Opa-Locka, a neighborhood that has quietly become one of South Florida's most sought-after production backdrops.

The following film permits were issued the week of October 1, 2026, by the Miami-Dade Office of Film & Entertainment (305) 375-3288, the Miami Beach Office of Film and Event Production Management (305) 673-7070, and the City of Miami's Office of Film & Entertainment (305) 416-1072.
Unfolding Content (Miami) — Motion picture for Compound 9. Opa-Locka.
Xxclusive Car (West Palm Beach) — Short film for Xxclusive Cars. Opa-Locka Airport.
Two productions, one neighborhood. Opa-Locka has become a recurring name on Miami's weekly permit list — and it's not hard to see why. The city's Moorish Revival architecture, wide industrial corridors, and the operational character of Opa-Locka Executive Airport give filmmakers a visual vocabulary that's hard to replicate anywhere else in South Florida. The airport in particular has become a go-to for automotive and action productions, offering tarmac access and open airspace that few urban locations can match.
Compound 9 continues its Opa-Locka run — the motion picture has appeared on multiple recent permit lists, suggesting an extended shoot in the area. Xxclusive Car, a West Palm Beach-based automotive brand, returns to the same airport for a short film, a format that has become a staple of the luxury car content world.
Miami's three film offices — Miami-Dade, Miami Beach, and the City of Miami — collectively issue permits weekly. We track them here as a window into how the city is being seen, framed, and told to the world.
