Dolce&Gabbana Beauty Came to Miami — and Chose the Classroom
When the global CEO of Dolce&Gabbana Beauty walked into Istituto Marangoni Miami, it wasn't a press event. It was a conversation — and the students were the point.
Part of our ongoing curation of what it means to live, love, and play in the Magic City.
There is a version of this story where two executives fly into Miami, do a photo op, and fly out. That is not what happened on September 10th at Istituto Marangoni Miami. What happened was rarer: the people at the top of one of the world's most iconic luxury beauty brands sat down with students in the Miami Design District and actually talked — about how they got there, what the industry is becoming, and what it takes to build something that lasts.
Gianluca Toniolo, Global CEO of Dolce&Gabbana Beauty, and Paolo Rosellini, Managing Director of The Americas, were the guests. IMM — the Miami outpost of the international Istituto Marangoni network — was the host. And the Miami Design District, as it so often does, provided the backdrop: a neighborhood that has quietly become one of the most important intersections of fashion, culture, and commerce in the Western Hemisphere.
The morning opened with a panel discussion — not the kind where executives recite talking points, but the kind where students ask real questions and get real answers. Leadership. The evolving luxury beauty landscape. What Dolce&Gabbana Beauty is building and why. The personal roads that led both men to rooms like this one. It was the kind of access that doesn't happen at a trade show.
It closed with a networking reception — which, in this context, meant students standing a few feet from the global CEO of a brand that moves billions in fragrance, skincare, and cosmetics, asking the questions they actually wanted to ask. That proximity is not incidental. It is the whole point of what IMM is trying to build in this city.
This is Live Miami. The Design District is not just where luxury brands open flagships — it is where the city's fashion identity is being written. From Istituto Marangoni to the boutiques lining NE 39th Street, this neighborhood sits at the intersection of global style and local ambition. Explore more of what defines how Miami lives.
Education becomes truly transformative when students have the opportunity to engage directly with the people shaping the future of our industries. Welcoming Gianluca Toniolo and Paolo Rosellini gave our students an inspiring perspective on leadership, creativity, innovation, and the evolution of luxury.
Education plays an essential role in shaping the future of our industry. At Dolce&Gabbana Beauty, we believe in empowering the next generation of talent by creating opportunities for knowledge, creativity and innovation to come together — because they will ultimately be the ones defining the future of beauty and luxury.
Istituto Marangoni Miami offers programs in Fashion Design, Fashion Business, Fashion Styling, and Interior Design from its home in the Design District — one of the few fashion schools in the country where the classroom and the industry are separated by a single city block. The PGM Edit
Miami has always attracted the world's biggest names. What the Design District is proving is that it can keep them — and that the next generation of talent shaping this industry might already be here, sitting in a classroom on NE 39th Street, waiting for someone to show up and take them seriously. On September 10th, someone did.
