Cris Cab said it plainly: "I knew from the moment he grabbed his guitar and sang that first note that with the proper nurturing, that kid had it. H…" — and Premier Guide Miami was in the room when it happened.
Through word of mouth, an acoustic guitar, and social media platforms like YouTube, Miami-based Cris Cab was making waves in the music industry. His cover of Wiz Khalifa's "Black & Yellow" went viral with over 350,000 views, catching the attention of Pharrell Williams, who became a mentor and champion for the young artist. With influences ranging from Bob Marley to Marvin Gaye, Cab's reggae-soul-pop sound was infused with hip-hop and classic rock rhythms. His single "Good Girls" was featured on Billboard.com, and his debut EP dropped June 7th — available on iTunes, Amazon, and as a free download at CrisCab.com. Premier Guide Media caught up with Cris before his performance in Miami, the first stop on his debut North American tour.
PREMIER GUIDE MIAMI: Making moves at such a young age — did you always know you were going to make it, but did you think it would happen this fast?
CRIS CAB: I always knew it would be possible, and it's amazing to see how people react to my music.
PREMIER GUIDE MIAMI: How does it feel to have the support of such an amazing producer like Pharrell?
CRIS CAB: It's amazing! I feel very honored to work with him. He's very easy to connect with. It's something great for me.

PREMIER GUIDE MIAMI: Your style has a lot of reggae infused in it. Why did you pick that flow to add to your music?
CRIS CAB: Well, ever since I was 9 I've been going back and forth to the Bahamas because my family has a house there. I'm Cuban and I grew up listening to reggae — that's why I like it.
PREMIER GUIDE MIAMI: Your EP comes out June 7th. What can we expect?
CRIS CAB: It's a lot more reggae. My music has a very chill, mellow vibe — perfect for the summer.
Cris Cab's debut North American tour kicked off June 4th in Miami at Grand Central, with stops in West Palm Beach, Orlando, Atlanta, Greenville, Wilmington, Vienna (VA), New York, Baltimore, Teaneck, West Chester, Brooklyn, and Boston.
