Inside the Room: Apotheke South Beach Opens With Three Nights of Celebration

Three nights before Apotheke South Beach officially opened its doors, Miami got its first look at the city's most anticipated new cocktail destination. Tucked behind an unmarked entrance on Washington Avenue in the heart of the Art Deco District, the New York-born cocktail apothecary welcomed a curated crowd of tastemakers, creatives, and industry insiders for an immersive preview that ran October 26 through October 29.

The first two evenings — Monday the 26th and Wednesday the 28th — centered on the cocktail experience itself. Guests stepped inside the hidden lounge to discover Apotheke's signature Original Formula List, crafted exclusively for Miami. The menu is organized around six categories: Health & Beauty, Painkillers, Stimulants, Aphrodisiacs, Euphoric Enhancers, and Stress Relievers. Bites from neighboring Naked Tomato by Chef Eyal Shani accompanied the cocktails, pairing two of South Beach's newest culinary and nightlife destinations in a single evening.

The celebrations culminated on Thursday, October 29, with an intimate dinner at Naked Tomato. Attendees moved through a curated prix fixe menu highlighting Chef Eyal Shani's modern Israeli cuisine — Hummus gargirim, Fire Roasted Eggplant Carpaccio with tahini and tomato seeds, Charred Beetroot with horseradish cream, and Butterfly Branzino cooked on a dangerous flame, followed by a spread of Shipudim. Each course was paired with one of Apotheke South Beach's Original Formulas. The evening closed next door at the lounge itself, bringing the three-night celebration to a quiet, inventive finish.

Rooted in the belief that plants are medicine, Apotheke draws on old-world apothecary traditions — using high-proof spirits to extract flavors from organic produce, herbs, botanicals, and unexpected ingredients.

Apotheke South Beach is the brand's fourth location, following its original Doyers Street outpost in New York's Chinatown (2008), Los Angeles (2018), and NoMad New York (2022). The South Beach menu features nine Original Formulas developed exclusively for the location — including Novia Del Sol, Dawn Patrol, and Bilongo — alongside rotating Historic Formulas from its New York and Los Angeles menus.
