Premier Guide Miami was on the scene. Here is what we witnessed.
Alkaline Trio brought their dark, melodic punk to Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale on March 23, 2010. The Chicago trio — Matt Skiba, Dan Andriano, and Derek Grant — have long been one of the most beloved acts in punk rock, and the Revolution Live crowd was packed with fans who knew every word of every song.
The setlist drew from across their catalog — Maybe I'll Catch Fire , From Here to Infirmary , Good Mourning , Crimson , and Agony & Irony — with "Radio," "Stupid Kid," "Armageddon," "Mercy Me," and "Help Me" among the highlights. Skiba and Andriano traded vocal duties with the ease of a band that has been doing this for over a decade, and the crowd gave it all back.
Revolution Live is one of the best rooms in South Florida for this kind of show, and Alkaline Trio filled it with the intensity their music demands.

The Convergence: November in Miami
November is the month Miami stops pretending it is not the most interesting city in the country. The weather breaks. The calendar stacks. The polo ponies arrive on South Beach. Olivia Rodrigo plays two nights. Shakira closes the month at Kaseya. Miami Book Fair takes over Wolfson Campus. And Art Week is three weeks out — which means the reservation windows are already closing. Here is what we are watching.
On the Radar: November 2–8
GEMS closes out with Turturro and a Mike Leigh retrospective. The South Miami Art Festival takes over Sunset Drive. A 40-seat Syrian long table on Miami Beach is nearly full. GableStage opens Liberation. NASCAR Championship Weekend hits Homestead. And Tony Robbins takes over Kaseya for four days. This is the week the city shifts.
