University of Miami Department of Religious Studies presents “A Conversation about Faith, Politics and the Media”

The University of Miami Department of Religious Studies presents “A Conversation about Faith, Politics and the Media” Monday, February 7, 2011 at 7:00 p.m in the UM Clarke Recital Hall. The panel will be moderated by William S. Green, Professor of Religious Studies who is UM’s Senior Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education. Panelists include nationally-known figures, such as Amy Sullivan, Dr. Randy Brinson, and Eric Sapp.

Amy Sullivan is a senior editor at Time magazine, where she covers religion and politics, and writes for the magazine’s political blog, Swampland.  She has also written for the Washington Post, the New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times, and she is the author of The Party Faithful (2008), a book that discusses the topic of Democrats and religion.

Randy Brinson is chairman of “Redeem the Vote,” a Christian political organization he founded during the 2004 presidential campaign to register young evangelical Christians to vote.

Eric Sapp is a founding partner of the Eleison Group, a Democratic consulting firm specializing in connecting clients with the religious communities and people of faith across the nation. He is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post.
