UM Law Inaugurates Class Action & Complex Litigation Forum

December 2, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

The University of Miami School of Law hosts the inaugural Miami Law Class Action & Complex Litigation Forum bringing together leading judges, MDL panelists, practitioners, and scholars from around the country to discuss current cutting edge issues and topics associated with multi-district class actions and complex litigation.

Topics will include the discussion of a hypothetical class action case, hot topics in class action and mass tort litigation, multidistrict litigation process and procedures, selection of lead counsel, and settlement and resolution of class actions.

WHO: Participating judges include Judge Brian M. Cogan, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York; Judge Eldon E. Fallon, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana; Judge Michael A. Hanzman, 11th Judicial Circuit Court for Miami- Dade County; Judge David R. Herndon, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois; Jusge Susan Illson, U.S. District Court of the North District of California, Judge R. David Proctor, U.S. District of the Northern District of Alabama, Judge Robin S. Rosenbaum, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; and Judge Kathryn H. Vratil.
