U.S. champion gymnast John Orozco has been added to the cast of Colgate Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular which is coming to the BB&T Center on Wednesday, January 25 at 7:00 p.m.
Orozco was selected to the United States Gymnastics team for the 2016 games in Rio, but withdrew due to an ACL injury. He was a member of the world championship teams that won the Bronze medal in 2011 and in 2014 and was a member of the 2012 Olympic team. In addition to being the 2014 U.S. high bar champion and 2012 U.S. all-around champion, Orozco is the 2014 U.S. all-around Silver medalist, 2013 world Bronze medalist on parallel bars, and the 2016 U.S. Silver medalist on high bar.
Orozco joins 2016 Olympic team, all-around, vault & floor exercise champion and balance beam bronze medalist, Simone Biles. Her four 2016 Olympic gold medals tie the Olympic record for a female gymnast in a single Games. Biles’ five 2016 Olympic medals tie for the most by a U.S. gymnast. She is the most decorated U.S. women’s gymnast in history with 19 World and Olympic medals.
Already confirmed for the once in a lifetime show are current 2016 Olympic silver medalist on parallel bars and high bar, 2012 Olympic bronze medalist in the all-around, and South Florida resident, Danell Leyva and Olympic ice dance champions, Meryl Davis and Charlie White, along with the featured guest entertainers, Echosmith.
