TOYOTA ANTICS MIAMI PARTY AT GRAND CENTRAL

TOYOTA ANTICS, a premier event featuring today’s best musical acts, brings the party to Grand Central in downtown Miami, Thursday night, December 2nd, in the spirit of this year’s Art Basel art exhibition. Transforming the contemporary event space, the party features live performances by Phantogram, Twin Shadow, and Flosstradamus, with additional DJ sets by Prince Terrence and DJ MSB.  The event will also showcase TRASHed: The Art of Recycling display by the non-profit art organization Global Inheritance and custom poster printing by Obsolete. Other entertainment includes tricked-out Toyota cars outfitted with classic 80’s Atari games in the trunk, a photo booth, and live screen printing. The party, 10pm to 3am, is free to all 18+ (with RSVP).

If the stellar line-up and general revelry aren’t enough incentive to attend, there’s a bonus: this year, for the first time, Toyota is offering everyone who attends a TOYOTA ANTICS event the chance to win a new Toyota Prius.  Partygoers can sign up at the venue or obtain a download card at the event and enter to win online with a special code (while supplies last).

This is the third year in a row that Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., Inc. and FILTER Creative Group, a worldwide leader in entertainment, lifestyle and brand marketing, have rolled out TOYOTA ANTICS, their series of action-packed community-inspired events in cities across the country.  Over 400 off-the-wall TOYOTA ANTICS parties have popped up to date, including a mix of festivals, underground warehouse shows and neighborhood block parties.

Venues have literally taken their doors off to accommodate the 2010 Toyota Matrix, Corolla and Yaris models that are showcased at TOYOTA ANTICS events, but it’s all for the sake of the party: every gathering highlights customized cars doubling as “arcades.”  In addition, carousers enjoy custom photo booths, silk-screening stations, art exhibits, action sports demos and, of course, live music.  This year, FILTER secured special guest performances by artists such as Ana Sia, Big Gigantic, The Rural Alberta Advantage and Built to Spill, while past artists include Ladytron, Miike Snow, MIA, Broken Bells, CSS, TV On The Radio, The Cool Kids, Chromeo, Biz Markie, No Age, and Bloc Party.

In conjunction with a packed year of TOYOTA ANTICS events, FILTER has launched a new website at UpTheAntics.com offering exclusive content such as band interviews, live performance footage of artists including Built To Spill, She & Him and Broken Social Scene, and a free monthly music sampler featuring emerging and established musicians from a variety of genres.  The Fall sampler includes downloadable tracks from Florence + the Machine, The Constellations, Swedish House Mafia, The Drums, and more. Additional sections on the site provide the most relevant news (i.e., blogs, podcasts/RSS feeds, tour announcements, and contests).
