In keeping with its pledge to present public, immersive, and multidisciplinary works, Faena Art has commissioned Juan Gatti to design a geodesic dome on the beach. The result is Time Capsule, a surreal garden-like orb featuring films, 360º projections, virtual reality experiences, and performances.

JUAN GATTI (b. 1950, Argentina) studied art in high school and went on to work as an illustrator for various advertising agencies and magazines in New York and Madrid. He was an art director for CBS Records in the 1980s and designed the covers for the debut records by Mecano, Miguel Bosé, and Alaska. Within the countercultural movement in Madrid, Gatti collaborated with the greatest minds in fashion and culture before decamping to Milan, where he worked as the art director of Italian Vogue in 1989 and 1990. He designed the graphic art for most of Pedro Almodóvar’s films. Gatti was bestowed with Spain’s National Design Award in 2004 and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2009.
