THE SMART RIDE 11 takes off November 14th & 15th

IMG_6397.JPGGlen Weinzimer, founder of The SMART Ride, turned his personal battle with AIDS into the 2ndlargest AIDS bike-a-thon event in the United States.

500 riders are expected to participate in the ride this year coming from throughout Florida and as far away as Hawaii. Historically, riders and support crew range in age from 18 to 73.

The SMART Ride 11 is a fun-filled travel of 165 miles that will begin in Miami and end in Key West to raise awareness and much-needed financial support for seven of Florida’s non-profit organizations that provide support and services for individuals with HIV/AIDS.

In the previous ten years, The SMART Ride event has raised over $5.3 million.

The SMART Ride 11 kicks off on Friday, November 14, at 6:30 a.m. from MorningStar Renewal Center, 7275 SW 124th Street, in Pinecrest, with an overnight stay at Hawk’s Cay in Duck Key.
