Slide the City stops in Fort Lauderdale during 2016 tour

unnamedVista View Park will be transformed into the biggest block party of the summer when Slide the City arrives on June 4.  Last year over three thousand adventure-seekers slipped and splashed down the giant waterslide. Since then, the popular event made improvements to the slide for an even smoother ride and added a block party to the surrounding festival. Event organizers are excited to bring the slide to Florida.

“This year is sure to be the best yet!” said event director Spencer Hunn. “Since last year, we have made various adjustments to the slide to avoid lines and increase sliding speed. We are also using a steeper hill so it will be even more fun.”

This massive event is bigger and better than the average block party. Families, friends and neighbors are invited to take a break from the heat and speed through three city blocks on inner tubes. Along with the one-of-a-kind slide, the block party will include food, music, local vendors and street entertainers.

“This unique event was a huge success last year, but for 2016 we are going to be adding some fun entertainment to give it more of a community feel,” said John Malfatto, Slide the City co-owner. “You can experience your hometown like never before!”

All those over 5 years of age and 46 inches tall are welcome to slide. Online registration opens on March 16, when participants can choose a single, triple or ultimate slider pass during a selected wave time.
