Optiwow.com, the Only Online Eyewear Retailer Dedicated Exclusively to Kids & Teens, to Host May 2 Great Glasses Play Day Event at Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science

unnamed-10Optiwow.com, the new online eyewear retailer that caters exclusively to children and teens, is pleased to host an exciting Great Glasses Play Day event at Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science. Children who needs glasses, contacts or patching for vision correction, plus their families and friends are welcome to attend.

The Great Glasses Play Day is an international initiative to celebrate glasses and the children who need them. It is meant to be a day of imaginative play, celebration and support, and to connect families with children who wear glasses. It will also assist in raising awareness of early detection and treatment of childhood vision issues, and the need to follow up and treat any issues that are identified. According to Great Glasses Play Day, Inc, around one in 20 preschool children and one in 10 young school-age children need some form of vision correction.

During the event, attendees will enjoy fun games and activities, and have the option to participate in a raffle to win a pair of MiraFlex® glasses. Dr. Roberto Warman, co-founder of Optiwow.com and an acclaimed Pediatric Neuro-Ophthalmologist, will speak to the families about eye safety. Papa John’s is the event food sponsor.

Event supporters include the American Optometric Association, the Children’s Eye Foundation, Prevent Blindness Wisconsin and numerous independent optical retailers including Optiwow. The Great Glasses Play Day was co-founded by Little Four Eyes and Peeps Eyewear, along with Board member Eye Power Kid’s Wear. For more information, visit www.greatglassesplayday.com.

Owners of Pediatric Ophthalmology Consultants at Miami Children’s Hospital for more than 25 years, Ivonne Goldstein, CEO of Optiwow.com, and her husband Dr. Warman created Optiwow.com to offer kids and teens access to a reasonably-priced, large selection of attractive, well-fit, high quality, age-appropriate children’s prescription eyewear. Goldstein and Dr. Warman created the site when their optical shop of the same name – Optiwow – recently celebrated 15 years in business.
