SUGARCANE raw bar grill offers guests the perfect menu item in celebration of National Lobster Day on Wednesday, June 15. SUSHISAMBA MIAMI BEACH is celebrating International Sushi Day all weekend (June 17 -19) by inviting guests to participate in a hands-on experience that celebrates two, traditional Japanese dishes: nigiri and donburi. With the expert guidance of a server, guests will learn to create nigiri or build their own donburi bowl from the comfort of their table. Both options feature a grain, selection of seafood, vegetables, fruit, garnishes and a sauce. It costs $19 per person and requires a two (2) person minimum. (600 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, FL 33139; (305) 673-5337)

Translated from Japanese, nigiri sushi is thin slices of raw fish pressed by hand into a pad of rice and served with nori (seaweed). Grain bowls have become incredibly popular and have evolved beyond the traditional Japanese donburi to include different proteins and grains such as the ancient Peruvian super-food, quinoa.

O’LIMA MIAMI, located in Bay Harbor Islands, just minutes from the Bal Harbour shops, is an upscale restaurant with an expertly prepared menu of Peruvian-Japanese fusion. For the first time ever, O’Lima is introducing two sushi rolls to their menu in honor of International Sushi Day. The rolls will be served complimentary on Friday for guests and added to the menu as specials for lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. The Ceviche Roll is a Peruvian version of ceviche, prepared with the same items including Mahi Mahi marinated in ceviche and aji amarillo chile sauces and topped with crispy onions. The Glazed Duck Roll, a fusion between Peruvian and Japanese sushi, includes cream cheese, glazed duck, fried plantains, avocado and sweet potato.
