Miami City Ballet’s 2010-2011 repertory will feature a major company premiere in each of its four programs led by John Cranko’s acclaimed, full evening version of Romeo and Juliet, the world’s most famous love story, hailed by The New York Times as “A major event.  The best dance treatment of Prokofiev’s celebrated score.”

Other 25th Anniversary Season highlights include the return of live music with the Opus One Orchestra thanks to a generous grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.  In addition, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker™ returns to the Kravis Center after a two year hiatus.

The season runs from October 15th, 2010 through May 1st, 2011. The company performs at Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale and Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach.

There is no increase in ticket prices for the 25th Anniversary Season with the exception of Romeo and Juliet in Program IV.  Single tickets range from $19 to $169, except for Romeo and Juliet, which are $20 to $175. Tickets for George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker ™ are $19.75 to $65.

Beginning Tuesday, July 6th, single tickets will go on sale and be available for purchase Monday through Friday from 10AM-5PM in person at the Miami City Ballet Studio Boutique, 2200 Liberty Ave at 22nd St., by phone at (305) 929-7010 or toll free (877) 929-7010, or online at www.miamicityballet.org where you can select your own seat.

Season Subscriptions are still available. Four-program subscription series are priced from $69 to $635 and two-program “mini-subscriptions” are priced from $36 to $330 by calling (305) 929-7010.

The Audrey Love Charitable Foundation is the Tri-County Presenter of Miami City Ballet’s 25th Anniversary Season.
