Lowe Art Museum Introduces Sip & Sketch as Part of First Friday Coral Gables Gallery Night

The Lowe Art Museum launches its Sip & Sketch series to coincide with First Friday Coral Gables Gallery Night, beginning February 5, 2016. As a new participant in the First Friday trolley tours of Coral Gables museums and galleries, the Lowe is offering visitors the chance to learn the fundamentals of art making from University of Miami lecturer and artist Jacquie Gopie, while enjoying a nice glass of wine. The Sip & Sketch sessions will take place in the Lowe’s Educational Pavillion from 7 to 9 pm, the first Friday in February, March, April, and May. The cost is $45 for non-members, $35 for members, and includes materials and two glasses of wine. Participants must be 21 or older to participate. The First Friday Coral Gables Gallery Night trolley tours are free (see coralgables.com for schedule information).

“We are excited to offer this activity to visitors so they can enjoy art and art making at the Lowe in a relaxed, after-hours environment,” comments Jill Deupi, Beaux Arts Director and Chief Curator. “This is in keeping with the Lowe’s mission to serve as a vital resource for education and enrichment through art and culture. And, of course, we are very proud to join the First Friday Coral Gables Gallery Night tours,” she adds.
