June 23-24: CHAMPIONSHIP CUP SERIES MOTORCYCLE RACING RETURNS

Championship Cup Series of Florida (CCS) motorcycle racing returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend, rain or shine. A field of more than 300 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and South America are expected to compete in 19 different races on the challenging 2.21 mile, 12-turn road course.

SPOTLIGHT:                Tampa resident and perennial top-10 rider, Greg Melka, may be given his best opportunity to win his first overall championship aboard a Yamaha 600. Rising star, Alan Slaney of Coconut Creek, will look to make a statement in the amateur division on a Triumph 675.

 

SATURDAY:                 Gates Open: 8:00 a.m. EST

      Practice and Time Trials: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

SUNDAY:                     Gates Open: 7:00 a.m.

Practice: 8:00-9:00 a.m.

      GT Races (5): 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Sprint Races (14): Noon – 5:00 p.m.

ADMISSION:               General Admission includes Paddock Pass: Saturday/$15; Sunday/$20

Two-Day Pass: $30 (Children 12 and under: FREE; Parking: FREE)

 

DIRECTIONS:              From North: Turnpike south to Exit 6/Speedway Blvd./SW 137th Ave.; left 5 miles to Gate 18/infield tunnel; From South: U.S. 1 north to Palm Dr.; go right four miles to Speedway; follow signs to Gate 18/infield tunnel
