Jewish American Heritage Month Program featuring NYC Artist Steve Marcus

In celebration of the 2019 Jewish American Heritage Month theme Jewish American Illustrators, JMOF-FIU will present a program featuring internationally acclaimed New York based artist and illustrator Steve Marcus.  Marcus’s exhibit Through the Hat is currently on view at JMOF-FIU.

Steve Marcus has received honors and awards from the American Society of Illustrators and published in the Society’s prestigious American Illustration Annual and awarded certificate of excellence.

He has several works in the permanent collection of the Oakland Museum of Art in California as well as in private art collections in the United States and abroad. He has collaborated with Allen Ginsberg, Ken Kesey, Timothy Leary, The Norman Mailer and Miguel Pinero Estates and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Since 1989, Marcus has created artwork and illustrations for High Times Magazine and the infamous Cannabis Cup, The United Nations, MTV, The Tibetan Freedom concerts, The Source, Conde Nast Publications, Esquire and posters for the world famous Filmore in San Francisco. see more of his work at  smarcus@smarcus.com
