JAZZ ASPEN SNOWMASS AND THE ASPEN 7908 SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL

ROBIN & MARK LEVINSON ALONG WITH BARBARA & SCOT HUNTER AND ELLEN & GERRY GREENSPOON TEAM UP TO SUPPORT JAZZ ASPEN SNOWMASS AND THE ASPEN 7908 SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL

“Giving Back” has no boundaries for Robin and Mark Levinson, co-owners of Levinson Jewelers on Las Olas, Scot Hunter, CEO of Emerald Asset Advisors and his wife Barbara, and Gerry Greenspoon, Managing Partner of Greenspoon Marder, and his wife Ellen. The three couples, who have residences in both South Florida and Aspen, have teamed up in the two communities to help support two great charities: Jazz Aspen Snowmass and the Aspen 7908 Songwriters Festival.

On Wednesday, July 18th, the Levinsons, Greenspoons and Hunters co-hosted a private cocktail party at the hot spot restaurant and exclusive member’s club, Casa Tua, in Aspen, raising over $50,000 for Jazz Aspen Snowmass. Over 100 people from around the country, including Founder and CEO of Jazz Aspen Snowmass, Jim Horowitz, attended the fashionable affair and mingled with the “who’s who” of Aspen. The mission of Jazz Aspen Snowmass (JAS) is to present and preserve jazz and related forms of music through world-class festivals, performances and education programs.  JAS has been consistently recognized for its unique marriage of world-class music to an unparalleled natural and intimate setting, and its impeccable hospitality for artist and audiences alike.  It has grown from a simple 3-day event in Aspen to a complex set of multi-day festivals in Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado; a summer series of weekly performances; diverse year round music education programs; and the new JAS Cafe Downstairs @ The Little Nell, featuring outstanding jazz musicians throughout the year.

Earlier this year, the Levinsons, Greenspoons and Hunters co-hosted an exclusive private event starring legendary singer, songwriter, musician and producer John Oates, best known as half of the rock and soul duo Hall and Oates, at the Levinson home in Fort Lauderdale.  The extravagant evening showcased a concert performance by Oates and was attended by the “who’s who” of South Florida. The event, which raised over $100,000 for the Aspen 7908 Songwriters Festival, was conceived to support the passion of John Oates and his involvement with the Festival.  The mission of the Aspen 7908 Songwriters Festival is to bring together songwriters new and legendary to create the next generation of great American music in an atmosphere of collaboration and community.  Produced by Songwriter Hall of Fame member, John Oates, and the Wheeler Opera House, the 7908 Aspen Songwriters Festival is the nation’s most intimate musical weekend, as it creates a bond between the artists who write the songs and the fans who want to hear them in their purest, most real form.  Legendary writers perform side by side with the next great generation of songwriting talent.

In addition to supporting these distinguished Aspen-based organizations, all three families and their businesses are passionate about giving back to charities and are recognized throughout South Florida for their far-reaching philanthropic endeavors.  For years, Robin and Mark Levinson and Levinson Jewelers have been dedicated to raising funds and building awareness for such highly regarded non-profit organizations as the Dan Marino Foundation, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Morgan Pressel Foundation, Best Buddies and Here’s Help, Inc. among countless others.  Barbara and Scot Hunter and Emerald Asset Advisors have been long-time supporters of Kids In Distress, Broward Partnership for the Homeless and 2-1-1 Broward, to name a few; and Gerry and Ellen Greenspoon along with Greenspoon Marder have been on-going supporters of the Dan Marino Foundation, Here’s Help, Inc., Junior Achievement of South Florida, American Cancer Society, the Boys & Girls Clubs, JAFCO, and Home Safe, among numerous others.

Spread the love!
