The Idris Elba + Superdry Collection has landed! The collaboration between the British hero brand and the Golden Globe-winning actor is anticipated to reign as the definitive lead in premium style for men.
Designed alongside Superdry Co-founders James Holder and Julian Dunkerton, the opportunity to collaborate appealed to Elba due to a natural bond with the brand.
“We’re three British lads who’ve worked hard to get to where we are. I’m passionate about what I do and always give 100%. If I had the opportunity to have any influence in fashion, this is it. I’m not a designer, but I’m passionate about clothes and I know how men want to look. Functionality and durability were key things for me. It’s a ‘24-hour’ collection; clothing guys can look and feel great in from day to night.” Idris Elba.
British, grounded and cool – Elba’s urban signature style resonates throughout the 250- piece collection. Deep tonal colours are paramount; a fusion of midnight blues, graphite greys, and jet-black sealed with signature-scar detail and a pop of cobalt blue emphasises the finest fabrics. Some of the key garments have been named to reflect Idris’ personal journey.
Made from 100% butter-soft premium leather and contrasting heavy coated zips, The Leading Leather Racer Jacket is a hero piece, reflecting the gritty, urban style of the star. Down-filled outerwear at the highest quality features throughout with attention to detail at its finest. The Aviator Down Parka with a fur-trimmed hood, monogrammed lining and internal pocket detailing makes for a powerful winter staple.
Tailored wool town coats, monogrammed reversible bombers, plus mac and trench coats that can be worn belted over tailoring or open over denim are key pieces. The Director Down Sports Trench delivers sophistication in both silhouette and fabric. The collection’s signature IE graphic features on the Jersey Sweat Programme; a collection of joggers, tees and hoods, while tailored fitted finethread shirts, merino crew neck jumpers and redefined denim support hero pieces. Through subtle branding, intricate detailing and high calibre fabrics, Superdry and Elba’s DNA has been ingrained throughout.
