Huayuan Art at Spectrum Miami | Wang Lihua, Shen Yongping, & Liu Junqi

unnamed-4

Huayuan Art is delighted to announce its first participation in Spectrum Miami 2016 with an engaging presentation of works by renowned Chinese artists Liu JunqiShen Yongping, and Wang Lihua. The exhibition will dive in to the unique categories of Suzhou Embroidery and Dunhuang Art. Lihua is a master embroider. Junqi and Yongping’s works are inspired by the murals of Dunhuang Caves, located in China’s northwestern Gansu Province on the edge of the Gobi Desert. All three figures have played a vital role in the revival of the historical art of the Silk Road, the core to the Huayuan Art’s narrative. Huayuan Art is a global initiative driven and inspired by traditional East Asian art and culture. The initiative seeks to share and spread appreciation of the artistic and cultural wonders conceived in this region of Asia – while uniting a growing international community of artists, scholars, specialists, and institutions in the process. Huayuan Art focuses primarily on arts of the Silk Road, including contemporary cave art, and thangkas from East Asia. This focus stems from a dedication to the advancement of the cultural industry of Gansu, China—an economically and culturally vital province between China and Central Asia during the Silk Road, and home to famous Buddhist grottoes, such as the Mogao Caves.
