Eva Longoria on Hosting Duties for the 2011 Alma Awards

I used to be a seat filler almost 12 years ago, and I wanted to get in the building to see the stars and to see people like me reflected on that stage. To come full circle with being an executive producer and co-host means a lot to me because there aren’t any other platforms that recognize positive images of Latinos in television, music and film. I’m so proud to be a part of the Alma Awards. _Eva Longoria, Alma Awards.

Eva Longoria: Alma Awards | Co-Executive Producer and Co-host
Golden Globe-nominee, Screen Actors Guild Award-winner, and ALMA Award-winner | Gabrielle Solis” on the ABC-megahit, “Desperate Housewives”
By: Daedrian McNaughton and Kamilah Wallace

Almas, a one-hour prime time special, which will air on NBC Friday, September 16th from 8:00-9:00 pm Eastern Time. The actual awards ceremony was held Saturday, September 10th in Santa Monica.

Which do you find more stressful, hosting the Almas or the Emmys?

Eva Longoria: Hosting the Almas. There’s not a lot to the Emmys, you just walk the red carpet. I produce and I wear different hats at the The Almas, so it’s definitely more stressful.

Will you be walking the red carpet?

Eva Longoria: Yes of course.

Whose designs will you be rocking this year?

Eva Longoria: We have the known ones like Carolina Herrera and Oscar de la Renta and then the lesser known, Esteban Cortazar and Angel Sanchez. I used to do about 16 changes; this year I’m only going to do about six or seven. We like to use the platform of this stage to promote Latino designers and up and coming designers that we may not have heard of. It’s just a great opportunity for us to showcase Latinos in fashion as well.

Spread the love!
