Earth, Wind & Fire Return to Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on July 1

Multi-platinum “Shining Stars” Earth, Wind & Fire will bring back their elemental and spiritual brand of funk and pop to Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on July 1, 2012 at 7 p.m.  Tickets go on sale Friday, June 1 at noon.

 

Fans can expect to hear some of their blockbuster smashes including  “Shining Star,”  “Sing a Song,” “Getaway,” “September,” “Boogie Wonderland,”  “After the Love Has Gone” and “Let’s Groove.”

 

Legendary band Earth, Wind, & Fire (EWF) is one of the most important, innovative and commercially invincible contemporary Pop / R&B music forces of the 20th century.

 

The group has had a remarkable and celebrated career spanning over four decades with 23 albums, eight #1 R&B singles and eight double platinum Top 10 Pop Albums. They have earned more than 50 gold and platinum albums and have sold over 90 million albums worldwide earning them a place on the list of best selling music artists.  EWF have received 20 Grammy Award nominations and have won six awards as a group; its founding members (Maurice White and Philip Bailey), individually, have won two each, totaling eight Grammy Awards.

 

The band’s influence has been cited by many of today’s contemporary music artists including Usher, Beyonce, Prince, Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige who re-recorded one of the band’s hit songs, “Imagination.”  Their songs have also been sampled by many artists including A Tribe Called Quest, Wyclef Jean, Jay Z, The Fugees, Amerie,  LL Cool J, De La Soul, Common, Naughty By Nature, P. Diddy, The Roots, Will Smith, Cee-Lo, MC Lyte and Lisa Left Eye Lopes.

 

EWF has performed at Super Bowl XXIX, the 57th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, two Grammy Awards Shows and for Presidents Clinton and Obama. President Obama even declared in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine that the group was among his favorites.

 

EWF’s career achievements are numerous. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have received a star on both the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Hollywood’s Rockwalk. They have been honored with a Vocal Group Hall of Fame Award, American Music Awards and Lifetime Achievement honors from ASCAP, NAACP and the BET Awards. In 2010 Philip Bailey, Maurice White and Verdine White were inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.

 

The band’s new album Now, Then & Forever a compilation will be released in September of this year.
