DAIRY COUNCIL OF FLORIDA AND MIAMI DOLPHINS TEAM UP TO HOST GRIDIRON COOKING CHALLENGE

Dairy Council of Florida is hosting its 3rd Annual Gridiron Cooking Challenge, a fun-filled cooking competition for elementary and middle school students. Student chefs in the South Florida region will compete on April 16 at the Dolphins Training Facility in Miami. Competitions are also being held in Tampa and Jacksonville on separate dates.

Earlier this year, students in teams of four submitted recipes featuring dairy ingredients, such as milk, yogurt and cheese. Finalists will prepare their recipe entries on-site for a panel of judges for a chance to win the championship title, a $2,500 prize pack for their school, four tablets and other prizes.

Event attendees will be greeted by Dairy Council of Florida’s MerryMoo and enjoy breakfast before the competition begins. Guests are invited to cheer on the student teams while they assemble their dishes, interact with Dolphins cheerleaders, mascot TD and pep squad Fin Force, and observe a cooking demo by Publix Supermarkets. Prizes will be awarded by MerryMoo and Dolphins defensive end, Cameron Wake (#91).

The Gridiron Cooking Challenge is created and supported by the Florida Dairy Farmers and is part of Fuel Up to Play 60, an in-school nutrition and physical activity program launched by the National Dairy Council and NFL to help encourage today’s youth to lead healthier lives.
