More than 250 guests recently attended the grand opening celebration for the four-star Iberostar Berkeley Hotel at 1610 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, featuring fabulous cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the hotel’s signature restaurant, BLT Steak. Acquired in 2013 by Blue Road, a Miami development company led by principals Jorge Savloff and Marcelo Tenenbaum, the hotel recently completed a $43 million investment that resulted in a new ten-story tower (increasing the total number of available rooms from 64 to 96), a rooftop garden, and a swimming pool deck that overlooks Collins Avenue.

The celebration was highlighted by welcomes from Tenenbaum and Savloff, and comments from Enric Noguer, managing director for the Americas at IBEROSTAR Hotels & Resorts, and Keith Treyball, president of ESquared Hospitality (the restaurant group behind BLT Steak). City of Miami Beach Commissioner Kristen Rosen Gonzalez also welcomed the guests and spoke briefly about the hotel’s historic significance.
