The Miami Design District’s Holiday Commission aims to enlighten spirits this holiday season with an art installation by 24-year-old contemporary artist Dozie Kanu. In partnership with Raise The Caliber®, whose initiative is devoted to removing illegal guns off the streets and recycling gunmetal and bullets, Dozie will be creating pieces using recycled metal accompanied with bird feeders fabricated from the same metal. His inspiration comes from the nostalgia of his childhood and the idea of strangely familiar objects that peek a child’s curiosity. The project will be on display November 12 – January 2.
