Artist Bia Doria will be putting in a first appearance on the international art scene this Thursday, December 6, at Art Basel Miami Beach 2012, considered one of the art world’s most important events. At the invitation of Gary Nader, renowned owner of the high-profile Gary Nader Art Center in southern Florida, Bia will be exhibiting two works from her Labyrinth collection.
Among the works shown by Gary Nader, in addition to Bia Doria, are pieces by Botero, Di Cavalcanti, Monet and Picasso, among others. Art Basel is taking place between December 6th and 9th in Miami.
Known for her art works created from native trees salvaged from forest fires, deforestation and river bottoms, Bia Doria is taking part in an international exhibit for the first time. “In addition to being a new stage in my work, this is an opportunity to bring the story and values of Brazil’s forests to one of the vital spaces in the art world,” she declares.
