“Aziz Ansari Road to Nowhere” Comes to Hard Rock Event Center

Aziz Ansari Comedian Aziz Ansari brings “Aziz Ansari Road to Nowhere” to Hard Rock Event Center at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. Saturday, April 20, at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 30, at noon. Fans can register to become verified fans now through Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 10 p.m. to access presale tickets beginning Friday, Nov. 30, at 10 a.m.

 

Aziz Ansari stars in, writes and directs “Master of None,” a Netflix original comedy series that he co-created with Alan Yang (“Parks and Recreation”). The show won the 2016 and 2017 Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and has received five additional nominations including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2016 and 2017, Outstanding Comedy Series in 2016 and 2017 and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series in 2016.  Ansari won the 2017 Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a TV Series, Comedy and the show was nominated in 2016 and 2017 for Best TV Series, Musical or Comedy. 

 

Additionally, the show was nominated for a 2017 WGA Award for Writing for a Comedy Series and a 2017 TCA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy. Ansari was also nominated for a TCA Award for Individual Achievement in Comedy and was honored with the 2017 Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy, a SAG nomination in 2017 for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series and the 2017 WGAW Evan Somers Award for outstanding writing, featuring characters with disabilities for the “Master of None” episode “New York, I Love You.”

 

Ansari received his first DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series in 2017 for “The Thief,” and his first PGA Award – The Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Comedy: “Master of None” (Season 2).  The show was one of AFI’s Top Television Programs of the Year in 2015 and 2017.  Additionally, it received a 2016 and 2017 Critics’ Choice nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. “Master of None” won the 2015 Peabody Award and the 2016 Critics’ Choice Award for Best Comedy Series and was nominated for three Television Critics Association Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy, Outstanding New Program and Individual Achievement in Comedy. The series also received four NAACP Image Award Nominations for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series. It also received two GLAAD nomination for Outstanding Individual Episode for “Thanksgiving” in 2017 and Outstanding Comedy Series in 2016.

 

Ansari’s other acting credits include: “Parks & Recreation”, “This is the End,” “Funny People,” “30 Minutes or Less,” “Get Him to the Greek,” “I Love You, Man” and “Observe and Report.” 

 

In 2015, Ansari became one of the only headlining comedians ever to sell out Madison Square Garden. His two sold-out performances at the legendary arena were filmed for his fourth comedy special, “Aziz Ansari: Live at Madison Square Garden,” which was released on Netflix in March 2015. His other comedy specials include: “Buried Alive,” which premiered on Netflix to rave reviews, “Dangerously Delicious” and “Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening.” 

 

For his career in comedy, Ansari received Variety’s Power of Comedy Award in 2014. Ansari got his start in entertainment performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and with the sketch comedy group Human Giant.

 

Upon entry to Hard Rock Event Center, guests with mobile devices will receive Yondr cases and must secure their devices, including smart watches and cameras, inside the locked cases. Guests will be required to switch their phones to vibrate to avoid disruption from incoming notifications. It is the responsibility of each guest to maintain possession of their mobile device inside the venue. Doors will open 90 minutes prior to the start of the 8 p.m. show to allow guests ample time to secure their devices and take their seats. The pouches will be unlocked at the end of the show. If needed, guests will be able to use their phones at designated areas.
