Artist Talk: Mary Reid Kelley

Join Mary Reid Kelley for a special one-time screening of her First World War-inspiredartworks Sadie, the Saddest Sadist (2009) and You Make Me Iliad (2010). Using skillfulwordplay and a combination of live action and stop-motion animation, Kelley’s videos explore the role of women during WWI along with issues of history and narrative. After the screening, Mary Reid Kelley and her husband, videographer, and collaborator, Patrick Kelley, will discuss the research, creative, and production process behind these rich and complex works. Presented with support from the Florida Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
