The Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO), together with America Developing Smiles and Maman Fine Art, presented the first edition of MISO CHIC, an exhilarating exploration of art, fashion music and technology for the packed John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center on Tuesday, November 17.
Created by MISO CHIC executive producer Fernando Duprat and MISO music director and conductor Eduardo Marturet, the glamorous event featured the Spring/Summer 2016 haute couture “Vibrations” collection by fashion designer and artist Nicolas Felizola. The one-of-a-kind runway show was accompanied by MISO’s 80-person orchestra, who played a mix of classical and pop culture compositions featuring music by composers Johann Sebastian Bach and Igor Stravinsky, cultural icon Paul McCartney, and even a film score from “Star Wars.” The evening also featured a theatrical performance reminiscent of a love story by MISO ambassador Athina Klioumi and Cirque de Soleil choreographer Antonio Drija.
Notable attendees included Abraham Shiera; Alexia Echevarria, star of “Real Housewives of Miami”; Alejandro Bardola; Ana Maria B., president of America Developing Smiles; Barbara Palacios, Miss Universe 1986; Cari Camero; Carolina Lucena, vice president of America Developing Smiles; Daniel Maman; Euclides and Sandra Moreno; Gabriela Isler, Miss Universe 2012; Irene Saez, Miss Universe 1981; Jean Carlos Molero; Jonathan and Criselda Breene; Jorge Perez; Juan Puig; Karent Sierra, star of “Real Housewives of Miami”; Maria Alejandra Requena; Mariela Cisneros; Roberto Zamora; Sissi Fleitas; Solita Mishaan; and Tomas Abreu.
